Michael's radio career spans more than three decades and has seen him progress from ‘a life on the ocean wave’ (that's pirate radio) to a multi award-winning stint at the BBC. Along the way he’s served his time as a radio announcer, newsreader, and programme maker.
Of course his best move was joining Premier in 2006 and since then he's built up a loyal following of late night listeners and Sunday morning worshippers. He also takes great joy in winding you up for the weekend on Friday afternoons and is a regular host of Premier events.
Michael also holds down a busy day job by leading a comprehensive programme of civic engagement across South London. This doesn’t leave him much time for anything else, but he somehow manages to eat and sleep, and to take a little regular exercise - even if it is just the daily 40 minute walk to and from his local train station.
He’s a keen collector of story books (that’s books on the power and art of storytelling as well as examples from all over the world), and he one day hopes to find the time to mess about on boats.
