Life of Bible translator Charles Thompson

What is the connection between a founding father of the United States Independence and a Bible translator?

Well, it’s in the person of a man called Charles Thompson, who came from Northern Ireland to what were then the American colonies of Britain in the mid-18th century.

Bruce Clark lives today in the farmhouse where Charles Thompson was brought up, near Maghera in mid Ulster.

Bruce, who’s a writer and journalist, has made a study of Charles Thompson.

He told Colm Flanagan, Premier’s regional producer for Northern Ireland, more about this remarkable man, who’s famous for two reasons. Find out what they are now.
