Living Church Project

It’s no secret that the number of Roman Catholic people in Northern Ireland attending church, has dropped dramatically.

In the diocese of Down and Connor, regular attendance at mass in the greater Belfast area is less than 20%. Can anything be done about this?

Well, there is a plan – it’s called the “Living Church Project”, and it’s centred round a small office off Belfast’s Ormeau Road.

Father Alan McGuckian is the man tasked with “keeping the church alive” – and he spoke to Premier's Colm Flanagan about how this project began.
