Church in New York launches poster campaign introducing Jesus as the 'original hipster'

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn features a Christ-like figure in a long robe and Converse sneakers. 

A Catholic Diocese in New York has launched a new advertising campaign which portrays Jesus as the original hipster.

The billboard ads currently plastered around Brooklyn and Queens feature a Christ-like figure in a long white robe with a pair of red Converse sneakers peeping out from underneath.

Francis Goodwin is Chair of the UK based Churchads.net and told Premier's News Hour why he thinks churches in the UK are reluctant to do something similar:
