Wahlberg said he began the gruelling routine last year in preparation for his role in the film Mile 22, and decided to stick with it.  He said in an Instagram video: "Most of the time I get to work out and do all my stuff while my family's asleep - especially on the weekends," he said. "By the time I've gotten up, worked out, done all my stuff, played golf, the kids are just waking up and my wife's sleeping in, so it works out good - but that's one of the big advantages of getting up early." In a 2016 interview with The Guardian, Wahlberg said he insists film crews accommodate his weekly Mass services.  He also told the newspaper: "Everything good that has happened to me in my life, whether it's meeting my wife or the births of my children, happened when I started focusing on my faith."
