The News Hour
Ever wondered what it’s like to hear the news actually being made?
Premier Christian Radio’s popular daily News Hour programme is pioneering a new style of radio journalism exposing you to the behind-the-scenes news gathering process.
The 60-minute music and speech show features live ‘raw’ news with Premier journalists Victoria Laurence, Marcus Jones and Des Busteed working in the background in the studio or from the newsdesk itself lining up phone interviews and gathering news stories.
Between songs, you hear calls to news-makers being made live with all the associated risks – uncooperative receptionists and PAs, people not being available leaving voicemails and occasionally getting wrong numbers! Mostly exciting and sometimes chaotic, The News Hour has a will-they-won’t-they element and follows up both Christian and mainstream news stories with a Christian perspective.
There’s also a daily spot with Premier's "Social Media Sean" talking through what Premier supporters are saying on social media and highlighting tweets from high-profile Christians and church leaders. Political editor Martyn Eden brings you all the latest happenings from the House of Commons.
And, at the end of the programme, there’s always a short prayer of reflection from presenter Rick Easter.
Listen to The News Hour on Premier Christian Radio, weekdays from 1pm.
