NT Wright: Why Jesus’ crucifixion is a fact of history

Leading New Testament scholar Tom Wright explains why Christians can be confident the gospel accounts are true

This weekend, millions of Christians around the world will be remembering the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

But did Jesus really die? More to the point, did Jesus even exist? Is he a figure of history?

Professor NT Wright is one of the world's leading New Testament scholars. In this clip, he tells Premier's Justin Brierley why Christians can be confident that the Bible's account of Jesus' death is true.

There you have it. In Tom Wright's words, "The crucifixion of Jesus is one of the best attested facts in ancient history."

According to a recent poll, 25% of UK Christians deny the resurrection. Click here to read a response by Andrew Hamilton-Thomas
