A Vicar’s Life

Each week they follow the ups and downs of parish life in rural Herefordshire.

Having watched the first programme Premiers Northern Correspondent Ian Britton was interested to discover if this was the same story elsewhere.

So to get as rural as he could Ian headed to Wensleydale in the Yorkshire Dales to meet local vicar the Rev David Clark.

He looks after the Upper Wensleydale Benefice which is made up of four churches in Askrigg, Hardraw, Hawes and Stalling Busk.

When he moved to the area just over a year ago his first purchase was a Land Rover to help he get around this remote Pennine parish.

The Rev Dave, as the locals know him, shared with Premier his thoughts on the programme and some of his own reflections on rural ministry.
