Every year, for one night only, the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway operates a Christmas Carol Train.

They came together from across the North East in solidarity with the homeless, experiencing what it is like to sleep rough at a time of year when we experience so much luxury.
It is estimated that on any one night in the North East, 38 people sleep rough.
In the North East, Depaul has ten projects supporting young people at various stages of their journey away from homelessness.
One of those sleeping out in the Cathedral was Bishop Mark, the Bishop of Jarrow.
Premier’s Northern Correspondent Ian Britton caught up with him before he settled down for the night.
