Capernwray Hall at 70

To mark this special moment more than 300 people gathered from the 25 Torchbearers Centres across the world located in 20 countries.

The first ten guests arrived in 1947 and since then many thousands of Christians have passed through the doors to study and practically apply God’s word to everyday life.

The week also marked Capernwray’s Managing Director Mark Thomas passing on the baton to the new MD Jonathan Halsey.

Mark Thomas told Premier “For me to see what’s going on and see all these folks from different parts of the world, blessed and encouraged, challenged ….. It’s been a thrill.”

Incoming MD Jonathan Halsey told Premier “It’s a wonderful thing to look back and see God’s goodness and provision for this place …. I’m convinced the future is going to be good.”

Premier’s Northern Correspondent Ian Britton joined the celebrations as they prepared to start a new chapter.
