Over the week-end Baptists from across the country gathered together in Harrogate for their Annual Baptist Assembly.

Every May, thousands of supporters take to the streets – for door-to-door collections, bake sales, sponsored walks, abseils, among many other events – to raise money to support people around the world living in poverty.
Christian Aid CEO Loretta Minghella attended a lunch at Durham Cathedral Deanery to honour some of the dedicated supporters from the North East.
Emma Peak Christian Aid’s regional coordinator for County Durham said: “It is no exaggeration to say that it is thanks to the dedication and vision of our supporters that we are able to respond and not only reach these people in desperate need but also challenge the causes of poverty at the same time.
Premier’s Northern Correspondent Ian Britton spoke to Diamond Awards winners Margaret Wall and Elizabeth Conran who between them have volunteered for 116 years.
Ian also took the opportunity to talk with Christian Aid CEO Loretta Minghella.
