She is an environmental scientist based in Nauta, which is situated on the Marañon River in the Amazon jungle.
One of her visions is to see people move from living just one day at a time to actually making long term plans to develop a sustainable future.
Premier’s Northern Correspondent Ian Britton met up with Laura-Lee during a visit back home to the UK.
