This week in Northumberland over 60 people are doing just that.
They are on a cross–carrying Pilgrimage to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne.
Now in its 42nd year, the pilgrimage is a visual reminder of the true meaning behind the Christian festival of Easter to all who see the pilgrims pass.
Premier’s Northern Correspondent Ian Britton joined some of the pilgrims as they walk from coast to coast, along the borders of England and Scotland.
Today, in countries all over the world Christians are raising their shouts of Alleluia. Jesus is risen. Death is defeated. You and I, created in God's image, can hope to spend eternity in his loving presence. Nothing can separate us from him.
Every Sunday Christian’s around the country are joining Premier Christian Radio and Churches Together in England for a special time of prayer at 7pm.
