Premier Christian Radio Your voice of hope!
When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,
what is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them?
For many of us living in the city light pollution prevents us from appreciating this nightly spectacle, yet out in our countryside we have some of the largest areas of dark sky in Europe.
The picture above was taken in the Yorkshire Dales by local photographer Mike Walton and illustrates well what can be seen in places with dark sky status.
Premiers Northern Correspondent Ian Britton has been to meet Mike Evershed, an Amateur Christian Astronomer who lives in the Yorkshire Dales, to learn more about viewing the sky at night.
