In the UK alone there were around 30 events including on at Greys Monument in Newcastle upon Tyne where around 2,000 gathered to protest.
Rev Jona Sewell, Superintendent Minister of the North Shields and Whitley Bay Methodist Circuit, told Premier “I’ve never really been involved in protests like this before but I think there reaches a point were you have to say enough is enough.”
He continued “I have been deeply troubled by the rise in the politics of fear, the politics of hatred, the politics of blame, and particularly when that is smothered so often particularly as we see in America, in the veneer supposedly of Christ and church which I find deeply troubling.”
Premiers Northern Correspondent Ian Britton joined the demonstrators for Inspirational Breakfast.
Ian spoke with a number of Christians from across the North East including….
Rev Jona Sewell, Superintendent Minister of the North Shields and Whitley Bay Methodist Circuit.
