The aim of the “We Are One Walk” was to highlight to the people of Manchester that Christians of diverse traditions can all walk together in unity.
Linda Stalley from the Maranatha Community that orgainised the walk told Premier “Our prayer has been very simple. That we would see God’s kingdom come as we gather together as the body of Christ under his Lordship.”
The walk had been planned for more than a year and was a timely opportunity for Christians to come together just weeks after the Manchester Arena bombing.
The Bishop of Manchester, Dr David Walker, in his sermon at Manchester Cathedral declared “we are defined by our love”.
Premier’s Northern Correspondent Ian Britton joined the walk of witness.
