This year’s programme included Christmas lullaby by John Rutter, Mid Winter by Bob Chilcott and Lift Thine Eyes by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy.

James Randle, Director of Music at the Cathedral’s Chorister School, leads the Cathedral’s Music Outreach programme which began in 2003.

James told Premier: “We are delighted to welcome children from schools across Sunderland to Durham Cathedral for the termly Music Outreach Celebration. Children from the eight partnership schools have worked hard to learn a variety of songs to perform to their family and friends.”

Premier’s Ian Britton joined the parents, friends and family of the young Sunderland singers and other guests at Durham.
