Desi Maxwell is a Bible teacher based in Northern Ireland, and runs a ministry dedicated mainly to helping Christians understand the Jewish roots of our faith. Of course many of Jesus’ pictures and parables were based on the natural world – such as the vine. On a recent visit to a town named Jerusalem, in Slovenia, eastern Europe, Desi discovered a Biblical truth about vines, in an unlikely place.
Retired clergy often take up activities which they’ve always wanted to do, but never had the time during their years in parish life. But one Presbyterian minister from Northern Ireland has an unusual passion. Noel Agnew travels regularly on the fishing trawlers which saiI from the eastern Scottish port of Peterhead. He told Premier’s NI producer, Colm Flanagan, about how he came to do this.
