Food For The Way Project

Inspired by that account from the old testament the Food for the Way project is looking to welcome people in need and help them on their way, without looking primarily to be blessed themselves.

Started by the Lerwick Salvation Army, the Methodist Church in Shetland has taken over the project and recruited a Pioneer worker, Peter Jamieson, to coordinate this meals based ministry.

The Rev Dr Andrew Fox told Premier “We in the Methodist church are taking the lead on this now but we have been encouraged by both prayerful and financial support from other churches within Lerwick and beyond Lerwick.”

Their hope to offer a sustainable ministry to those in need due to mental health problems, addiction or other challenges.
