Christingles are special events organised by schools, churches, and community groups all over the country to raise vital funds to help children who are facing Christmas alone or are unable to cope. This year marks the 50th anniversary of The Children’s Society bringing Christingle to this country, with a service first held in Lincoln Cathedral in 1968. ​
