The prodigal boxer
Troubled with a life of addiction and crime, Ashley cannot speak highly enough of the community group that has supported him through his darkest days and offered him a place of hope after encountering God in prison.
Our regional reporter Rachel Matthews met up with Ashley, now a trainee minister with the Elim Church in Wakefield, at Lion’s Boxing Club to find out how boxing helped him turn his life around and met Kev Dillon, the Head Coach who welcomed Ashley back to the club after his stint in prison, in a very similar way the Father welcomed his prodigal son home.
