Jerusalem City of the Living God

As we complete our Lenten reflection on Jerusalem we look at the letter to the Hebrews, one of the most eye-opening sections of the Bible. It invites us to come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem (Hebrews 12:22). The writer points to the risen Lord as eternal priest and victim, fulfiller of the Old Covenant and in his sameness yesterday, today and for ever (13:8) the brilliant cause of our hope and our joy.
