Woman to Woman

Pastor LORRAINE JONES’ son was a few months short of his 21st birthday when he was fatally stabbed London in 2014. He wasn’t in a gang –  in fact he was acting as a Peace Keeper helping a younger boy who was being chased and died as a result. His name was Dwayne Simpson. He was from Brixton’s Angell Town Estate & had created a boxing club to address its lack of facilities for young people. The project had a positive impact on the well-being of young people in the area and Dwayne’s death affected the whole community. His mum re-launched the boxing scheme as Dwaynamics to honour his memory. The scheme helps young people develop life skills through boxing and fitness, training, mentoring and employability workshops.

Hear her speaking to Premier’s Lisa Mainwaring as she describes the last moments she had with her beloved son & the dream that triggered her forgiving her son’s killer (keep listening until the end).
