Val Jeal gave her heart to God sitting quietly in a Salvation Army meeting in Bristol on Sunday morning 25^th November 1985. Little did she realise where that would lead. Almost forty years later after a life spent reaching out to some the most marginalised in society her work has been recognised in the award of an MBE and an Honorary Doctorate in Law from the University of Bristol. And in 2021 she became the first woman in the long history of Bristol to be given the Freedom of the City. She talks to Chick Yuill about what God can do with an ordinary woman who gives Him her heart.
