Faith Hope and Love with Chick Yuill

Phil Sumner is a Catholic priest who worked in Manchester’s Moss Side area for 25 years and conducted the funerals of many of the young men who were killed in the Manchester gun wars of the 1980s. In 2001 his bishop appointed him to Oldham when riots broke out in the Lancashire town. He has worked there tirelessly ever since building bridges between different faiths and across ethnic communities. He talks to Chick Yuill about his conviction that his ministry cannot be confined just to his own flock or kept within the walls of his church
