Gavin Peacock is a husband, a father and an associate pastor at Calvary Grace Church in Calgary.

BUT from 1984 to 2002 he was a successful and highly regarded professional footballer playing over 600 games for Queens Park Rangers, Newcastle United and Chelsea among others before becoming a football pundit on BBC television and radio.

Then in 2006 he surprised many by turning his back on such fame for the relative obscurity of theological studies in preparation for church leadership. He has recently written his autobiography “A Greater Glory: from pitch to pulpit”.

He spoke to Premier’s Chick Yuill about his love for football and why it took second place to his faith in Jesus.
