Inspirational Breakfast with Esther Higham

Today is the70th anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima.

The attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki – bombed three days later – remain the only instances of nuclear weapons ever used in warfare.

Fast forward to present day Japan, and hibakusha continue to warn humanity about the horrors of nuclear war.

And all around the world today, church services are taking place to remember the dead – and to pray for peace to prevent nuclear warfare ever taking place.

In London the Quakers Britain is holding an interfaith service of commemoration. Helen Drewery, General Secretary of Quaker Peace and Social Witness unpacks this in more detail.
