It’s the second day of Lent – the 40 day period of preparation for Easter which many Christian traditions mark with fasting – whether that’s giving up something for the whole period like chocolate or alcohol, or some days of complete fasting.

But is giving up unhealthy treats just for a limited period actually good for us?

Premier’s Esther Higham asked dietician and founder of Food for Purpose, Shola Olapido about this very matter.
