Inspirational Breakfast with Esther Higham

It’s budget day today where the Chancellor Rishi Sunak will announce his government spending plans for the year. Usually we’d be wanting to know if petrol was going up, and how much tax there was now on a pint of beer but this year is different. As the government sets out how it’s going to keep supporting businesses and families affected by the pandemic.

Coronavirus has already cost the government over £280 billion in extra spending – can they afford to spend more?
How will they ever pay it back? Premier’s Esther Higham spoke to Dr Justin Thacker Director of Church Action for Tax Justice about the governments spending plans for the year.
