For new believers a question that often comes up is ‘how do I pray’?

Jesus may have chosen to teach His disciples to pray for the same reason – that they were new followers of Christ, with the wrong representations of spirituality and how to communicate with God.

Rev Canon Dr JOANNA COLLICUTT is an author, Karl Jaspers Lecturer in Psychology and Spirituality at Ripon College, Cuddesdon and associate priest at a parish in Oxfordshire.

She strongly believes that praying The Lord’s Prayer is an expression of and vehicle for our relationship with God. She’s written a book called ‘When We Pray’ and she joined Craig Wakeling on Inspirational Breakfast this morning on the line from Oxford!
