The average marriage now lasts a little over 11 years in the UK, and rates of divorce are rising in couples in their 50s. So how do you take steps to stop your marriage from becoming another divorce statistic?

It’s National Marriage Week, so we thought we’d find out: Are there any keys to a healthy, strong and happy marriage?

Qualified psychologist Dr Greg Smalley, a marriage expert from international Christian organization Focus on the Family and author of Crazy Little Thing Called Marriage: 12 Secrets for a Lifelong Romance, shared his advice on how to keep that flame burning.
