Inspirational Breakfast with Esther Higham

2016 is the 40th anniversary year of the annual Christian cross–carrying Pilgrimage to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, which takes place once again during the week before Easter.

Pilgrims are journeying through various parts of Northumberland and the Scottish Borders, staying in church and village halls along the route, and joining with people from local churches for times of prayer and worship. The dramatic bearing of crosses over the tidal causeway sands and the arrival onto Lindisfarne on Good Friday morning marks the beginning of the pilgrimage’s unique celebration of Easter.

Premier’s Northern Correspondent Ian Britton joined some of the pilgrims as they walk from coast to coast, along the borders of England and Scotland.
