Mary is an orthopaedic surgeon who was kayaking down a waterfall in South America, when it jammed under a rock. Unable to move and pinned to the river bed, her body was eventually pulled from the water with both legs badly broken and no sign of life. Despite the efforts of her rescuers she died. However the story didn’t end there. Dr Mary C. Neal relives what happens next in her book ‘To Heaven & Back’ and recounts her journey to heaven, which also contains the accounts of further amazing encounters with God she had during her subsequent recovery.
