This month is Travel Month here at Premier Christian Radio. It’s traditionally the month where most of us book up a break, so we’ve got something to look forward to.
And this morning we wanted to focus on ‘Unlikely pilgrimage holidays’ or ‘Holy holidays on a shoe string’.
Some people like to go the Holy Land to follow in the footsteps of Christ or to Lourdes to feel the healing power of the water.
But here in the UK, there is arguably just as much spiritual and scenic holidays to enjoy – especially in the North East. Premier’s Ian Britton has been talking to a couple of people who’ve fallen in love with the North East, which has a rich Christian heritage stretching back over 13-hundred years and receives over 1 million visitors a year.
The NHS is the political battleground on which May’s election is likely to be fought. The Labour leader thinks it is the Conservative’s Achilles’ heel and raises it every week in Prime Minister’s Questions.
