Inspirational Breakfast with Esther Higham

In May, Reverend David Pickering, moderator of the United Reformed Church National Synod of Scotland, went on a pilgrimage to the Somme, where a century ago his grandfather fought in the First World War. He was joined by German minister and long-time friend Martin Henninger, whom he discovered fought in the same battle but on the opposite side! Weirder even was that they share similar Christian names (Friedrich and Frederick), which led to David and Martin retracing their grandfathers steps! Joining John Pantry and Rosie Wright on Inspirational Breakfast as well is Reverend Philip Brooks, secretary for Edumenical & Interfaith relations at United Reform Church who helped Reverend David unite this information! Be sure to head onto www.urc.org.uk to access more information about Rev David’s journey and the booklet that they created!
