Inspirational Breakfast with Esther Higham

SIFA Fireside brings together the best of two organisations established to support vulnerable, and homeless people in Birmingham.  

SIFA – Supporting Independence From Alcohol, started out as a local project working with street drinkers in the Moseley area.  The Fireside was started near the City centre by two Catholic nuns to provide a place of respite for homeless people, where they could access shelter and food.  

Both organisations have been active since the 1970’s and came together in 2007 to combine their strengths and serve the community as one.

Our regional correspondent Rachel Matthews, visited their drop-in centre to meet 92-year-old founding member SISTER SABRINA, but first she began by talking to fundraising manager MELISSA ROACHE about the charity itself…
