With the recent U-turn by the Government to ban so-called conversion therapy for gay or bisexual people, but not transgender people in England and Wales, has often courted much-heated debate- especially within the Christian community. According to NHS England, conversion therapy attempts to change someone’s sexual orientation or gender identity. The Government’s second U-turn ban will not cover gender identity. So how do we reach and have meaningful conversations with those struggling with their sexuality and gender outside and within the Church?Graham Nicholls is director of Affinity- a fellowship of churches made up of evangelical agencies and Christians.  He shares with Esther Higham how he discusses the subject and why God is the key.
