Around a quarter of a million families in the UK are currently behind on their housing payments which affects other areas of debt in their lives. Figures from the Resolution Foundation show over half are likely to be in arrears because of the pandemic.

The group’s urging the government to introduce a tenant loan scheme to ease pressure on renters.
