Inspirational Breakfast with Esther Higham

This Friday, many Christians will be going to Passion plays up and down the country.

Some will use professional actors, others using volunteers and amateur dramatics groups – but there’s probably only one that’ll be using homeless people.

The Streetwise Opera will set up in the historical surrounds of Campfield Market in Manchester this weekend – to bring us Bach’s iconic oratorio St Matthew Passion, brought to life as an immersive fully-staged opera.

The twist? The vibrant cast comprises people all of whom at some point in their lives have experienced homelessness.

British composer Sir James MacMillan joins us live from Scotland to talk about his involvement in the project.
