Today marks the beginning of National Marriage Week – an annual celebration of marriage, run by The Marriage Foundation – addressing family breakdown in the UK. 

This year they’ve partnered with relevant organisations to develop a “recipe” for a healthy marriage. And along with friendship, intimacy, forgiveness and communication – one of their five ingredients is commitment.

Many married couples will recall exchanging vows on their wedding day, but these promises can become a distant memory when facing the trials of life.
