Inspirational Breakfast with Esther Higham

Seven years ago, Pastor Alex Gyasi turned his church in north London into a homeless shelter – for people that homeless charities couldn’t, or wouldn’t, help.

Most of the 50 destitute men were either addicted to alcohol or drugs, or suffering mental health problems.

And the congregation – who are largely immigrants on low incomes – agreed to donate between 10% and 20% of their incomes to the project, raising about £80,000 a year between them.

Giving so much money goes against human instinct – so why do they do it?

Pastor Alex, founder and senior pastor of Highway of Holiness church in Tottenham, tells us more on Inspirational Breakfast.
