Inspirational Breakfast with Esther Higham

As part of Inspirational Breakfast’s mini-series on combating the January Blues, Reverend Will Van Der Hart spoke to John and Esther to explain how the January Blues and Seasonal Affected Disorder can affect Christians at this time of year.

Will is the Pastoral Chaplain at Holy Trinity Brompton Church and Director of Mind and Soul – a resource for Christians to help them engage with mental health. He gave his tips on how to beat lowliness and to support other Christians struggling with their mental and emotional health.

“I’ve got some goldfish and this goldfish is very lively and lovely when the lights are on. But, when the light is off they stay at the bottom of the tank. I have to remember to turn the light on when I’m down there in the morning and then turn if off again before I go to bed to give them a healthy rhythm. when the days are short we struggle with this confused biorhythm too”
