This year marks the 17th Wise Woman Awards which takes place this Saturday, March 26th at the Leonard Royal Hotel in London.
Spearheaded by Pastor Majorie Esomowie, past recipients of the awards include Karen Gibson of Kingdom Choir, Baroness Doreen Lawrence, along with charity leader Tessy Ojo.
Winner of the Businesswoman of the Year category is entrepreneur Paula Powell, a former Service Manager of 20 years in Housing, where she supported vulnerable young people in the community. She’s also worked closely with Richard Taylor whose son was tragically killed 22 years ago to knife crime.
Paula now runs her own business; Sphere Hospitality and she tells Esther Higham what keeps her grounded working in a high-profile environment.
