He’s a committed Christian, who was awarded an MBE in the latest Queen’s Birthday Honours List. He’s a Brummie who spent the early part of his life as a normal teenager, cherishing a desire to become a professional footballer. But his hopes and dreams seemed to have been tragically cut short when he developed Leber’s Optic Atrophy, a hereditary condition from which there is no cure, and he was forced to face the reality of being permanently blind at the tender age of nineteen. John Pantry caught up with him and he gave a very honest account of his experiences.
On the surface he had it all. A business turning over £70m a year, a lavish lifestyle & a young family. Through losing everything, he discovered new riches in life; notably the true value of his family, his friends and his faith. All of which he’d neglected in his quest to become wealthy. He told John Pantry and Father Christopher Jamison how his view of success was transformed when he became a Christian.
