‘Saints Alive’ has been a resource available within the Christian world for many decades. It began when its authors John Finney and Felicity Lawson were working together in an Anglican parish in Nottingham. It was written in order to help to stimulate and nurture people in their parish to grow in their faith, and it went down so well that other churches started to use it, and it was published globally.
Move on a number of decades, and ‘Saints Alive’ has been reworked, still as a nine-session course, but now includes daily Bible reading notes and inspirational quotes, and there are video resources available as part of the course too.
John’s retired now as his previous role as Bishop of Pontefract, but the Rt Rev John Finney is still actively behind this resource, and Premier’s Michael Fanstone spoke to him about it.
